I have peripheral neuropathy and find it impossible to describe having feet as dead and heavy as rocks while so sensitive that touch causes sharp pain, so I created this piece as a way of showing people what this is like. It also helps me put the pain outside of my body so it doesn’t consume my mind.

  1. My late wife had neuropathy in her hands and feet, arising from the chemotherapy she was having for bowel cancer and what you describe so well resonates with me now eight months on her death last January. I don’t think my wife ever got used to the neuropathy but kept being told at the hospital how it would “go away” in time (although, sadly, it never did).
