Wascally Wee Willy (2009) by William “Wascally Wee Willy” Harroff

There are few images I’ve created over the last ten years that I relate to more than this one. It’s why I use “Wascally Wee Willy” as my logo and avatar.

I consider the young man’s goofy face a “mutant.” All of us are mutants in some sense, especially those impaired, in pain or chronically ill. We are not what we once were and may never be again, yet we retain a clear psychological profile of that fictional well person who existed in the past.

From my perspective, it is better and healthier to “embrace the mutant.”
